Nine Morton High School students competed in this year's Clark County Mock Trial district tournament. The team traveled to Vancouver in mid-February to compete against other schools as both the prosecution and defense in a case about homelessness, burglary, and the defense of necessity. After the weather forced a rescheduling of day two, the team returned to Vancouver at the end of the month. Although they did not advance to the state tournament, the team scored higher and was more competitive than any other Morton team has been in years past. Four students were nominated for individual awards; Lance Scogin and Bailey Eden were nominated for Outstanding Attorney, and Hunter Brackett and Leslie Doolittle-Holmes were nominated for Outstanding Witness. All students turned in impressive performances. Congratulations to the Morton Mock Trial team.
