The Morton/White Pass cross country team will run in their first meet at Sunnyside tomorrow in the 12-school Sun Burn Invitational. The middle school race will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by the high school girls (11:50 a.m.) and boys (12:30 p.m.).
The Morton/White Pass football team is kicking off their season tonight in Morton with a home game against Highland at 7 p.m.

Today marks the first day of an exciting new school year here at Morton! Our dedicated team of educators, support staff, and administration are ready to welcome students back with open arms and big smiles. These are all the teachers and paras from elementary through high school, the bus drivers, the kitchen staff, maintenance, and the administration.
Hunter Brackett and Noah McCarthy attended the Navy JROTC (Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps) Northwest Leadership Academy at Camp Rilea, Oregon from June 22-29. There were 163 Cadets in attendance from all over the West Coast. They are both preparing for leadership roles in the newly established Morton High School NNDCC (Navy National Defense Cadet Corps) unit starting next school year.

Graduation week is upon us! Please take note of the following important details:
Mandatory Graduation Practices: Monday-Thursday at 8 AM
Friday at 3 PM (students will stay on campus until graduation)
Final Affair/Baccalaureate: Thursday, June 6 at 6 PM in the HS gym
Graduation Ceremony: Friday at 6 PM
Caps: Students may decorate their caps, which must be approved by Mrs. Hanger and will be kept until graduation.
Running Start Students: Please make accommodations with your college professors to attend all graduation practices.
Dress Code: Business casual attire is required. Dresses, skirts, or slacks are expected.
Dress shoes only; no Romeos. Clean, business casual boots are acceptable.

This is a reminder to all 10th grade students and parents. Tomorrow, Friday May 31st, all 10th graders will be taking the state assessment for Math. Students will need their school Chromebook and charger. Be sure to get plenty of rest and be on time to school to be prepared for testing. Please contact the office if you have any questions.
This message is a correction to the message that was sent earlier this afternoon regarding state testing for intermediate students tomorrow. Tomorrow, the 6th grade students will be completing state testing for Reading in the morning. The 4th graders and 5th are not testing tomorrow. We apologize for any confusion. Thank you.

As you are already aware, due to some unexpected facility issues, we are on Remote Learning today, May 22.
The Spring Music Concert is still on for tonight! The concert will be held Jr./Sr. High School gymnasium at 6:00 PM to hear our talented students perform.

The notice about school closure should have said the 22nd not the 21st. We apologize for the confusion.
Due to facility issues, Morton School District will conduct remote learning on Wednesday, May 21st. Instruction will follow the protocol used on initial snow days. Students or families with questions should contact their teachers during normal school hours. The issue, related to the sewer line, is expected to be resolved by the end of the day tomorrow.
