Child Find
Are you concerned about your child’s development? Morton School District is committed to identifying and supporting children with disabilities or developmental delays through the Child Find process.
If you have concerns about your infant, toddler, preschooler, or school-aged child, or if you know your child has a disability and are seeking appropriate educational services, we’re here to help.
To ask questions, don't hesitate to contact the Lewis County Small Schools Cooperative at lcsscchildfind@adnaschools.org. The staff there can assist you with any questions you may have about the process.
To begin the process, we kindly request that you start by completing the intake form and emailing it to the cooperative.

Dispute Resolution
While both staff and parents approach program development for special education students with their best interests in mind, sometimes differences of opinion occur. Parents who have questions or concerns about their student should take their concerns first to the special education teacher, general education teacher and/or school therapist who works with their student. If the questions or concerns are not answered at that level, parents have a series of people to whom they can turn for help. The following list is guidance as to the order of individuals you may contact for support with your questions or concerns.
Start with the student's special education and/or general education teacher and request an IEP team meeting to address the concerns.
If questions or concerns are not met, contact the school principal.
If questions or concerns are not met, contact the Director of Special Education.
If questions or concerns are not met, contact the Superintendent.
If questions or concerns are not met, visit the OSPI Dispute Resolution page. You may consider using more formal dispute resolution options in order to resolve your disagreement.
